    Coca has been, ancestrally, a sacred leaf. We, the indigenous, have had a profound respect toward it... a respect that includes that we don't "pisar" it (the verb "pisar" means to treat the leaves with a chemical substance, one of the first steps in the production of cocaine). In general, we only use it to acullicar: We chew it during times of war, during ritual ceremonies to salute Mother Earth (the Pachamama) or Father Sun or other Aymara divinities, like the hills. Thus, as an indigenous nation, we have never prostituted Mama Coca or done anything artificial to it because it is a mother. It is the occidentals who have prostituted it. It is they who made it into a drug. This doesn't mean that we don't understand the issue. Transformations and Upgrades

This archive is currently under reconstruction.

Briefly, the initial concept of ce399.typepad.com was to archive documents (newspapers, excerpts from books, etc) in a coherent and easy to access manner for researchers interested in the field of anti-fascism and related matters.

But, as the project progressed over the years, the research archive began taking on a more personal, synergistic and opinion editorial--sometimes even very polemic--type approach. Most of these types of more personalized entries can be found in the 'Selected Posts' section of the side bar.

Also, this is very important: Please note, the side bar contains a great many external links not found in this archive's internal catagorization function; thus that portion begins with the heading 'Index and Links'

The aforementioned more personalized type of blog entries will be archived on a completely new and separate blog and the work will continue on this separate weblog in the very near future, as I would like to keep the purity of this (ce399) particular type of blog--meaning being strictly a research archive, depository or backbone, if you will--intact.
